Hi everyone, I’m back and this time we’re talking about EYES!

I often get asked by my clients how to “recreate a look” on their own and I honestly feel like if you apply a few simple tips it’s actually quite easy, especially once you understand the type of eye you're dealing with.

Now that lockdown is over and we’re allowed out again I wanted to share a few tips that I’ve found really useful throughout my career and I hope you do too!

Ninni’s Top Tips For Eyes:

  • Do your eyes before you do concealer and foundation. If you make a little mess when blending your eyeshadows it’s easily wiped and you get a cleaner lighter look.

  • Start practising with more natural tones especially if you’re not used to applying a lot of make up.

  • If you have an event, practise your look before when you have time. This way you are not stressing on the day.

  • If you want to wear a bright colour on your eyes, its placement will depend on your eye shape. For a heavier lid, just pop a little colour on the inside corner or under. For a more visible lid, just a touch of colour will be very effective!

  • Eye liner, a struggle for many! Lay your pencil or liquid liner down on your lash line so the lashes will help balance the line (for a more "mature" eye use a waterproof gel liner) and keep your eyes looking down for a few seconds after application so that it dries without transferring and getting messy.

  • If placing your eye liner and getting it to balance is difficult, do the line with a darker eyeshadow first and then fill it in with liner.

  • When you get to the outer corner make sure the line does not go below the corner. This will ensure your eyes don’t look tired or droopy. Point the end up for a younger uplifted look.

  • For a sharp bold liner use a gel liner and a small wedge brush, it will flatten and get pointy with the gel. Mush easier to wear if you have a young taught eye with a lot of space

  • Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment! The more you practice and try different things the more proficient you will get!
