What Happend When I Tried Softwave

We all love the idea of a device replacing the need for going under the knife and with the amount of devices that are out there at the moment it’s looking like cosmetic procedures are moving in that direction so I wanted to try its latest contender, Softwave! Which I tried out at Dr Sophie Shotter’s Clinic on Harley Street with Verity.

How does it differ to other Ultrasound Treatments on the market?

Popular devices like Ultherapy can go to a deeper level, hitting the SMASS, which is what doctors lift during a facelift procedure. However, the risk of going that deep is that you can also hit the fat layers which can result in fat loss… not so good.

Sofwave is a revolutionary non-invasive ultrasound technology that stimulates our own natural healing process and collagen production.  It’s cleared by the FDA to treat and lift eyebrows, jaw line and neck, reducing skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles. It uses a next-generation ultrasound energy to penetrate the skin without damaging the outer layers of the skin, allowing you to return to your daily routine right away

There is no downtime and you can see an instant lift which gradually gets better over the next three months AND you only need one a year.

So that’s what the professionals tell us but what actually happened?  Now, I’m not going to lie, you do need numbing cream for this as even with the cream I did find the treatment uncomfortable at times.  However, I did make the mistake of going whilst I had my period so that may have made my pain threshold not as high as it usually is.

Softwave

This is a treatment that triggers the body’s healing response which then stimulates collagen so I guess no pain no gain.   A cool gel is applied and then my treatment starts, it takes about 30 minutes to do whole whole face and neck and as you can see in the images taken straight after my treatment I’m not very red.   In fact, I went straight out to a gig after the treatment and no one noticed at all…my friend actually commented on my skin glowing.  Although, I’m told that you won’t see the full results until about 3 months after the treatment.

It’s now four months later and have I noticed a difference?  100%! It’s been subtle changes over the last couple of months and you start to think that it hasn’t worked but then all of a sudden you notice that your jowls are gone, your face is looking fresher and for me its my skin, it really feels tight like it did in my early 30s.   What’s great about this is that you only need the one treatment and you can combine it with fillers and botox if you feel you need it after.  I’ve tried a lot of the latest devices from Morphesus 8, Thermage plus others but I have to say that this is pretty extraordinary as its quick, you only need one and it should last up to 12 months but most importantly it does really work.  Like all of these machines they are fantastic but can go wrong if not carried out by a professional so make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing like Very at Dr Sophie Shotters clinic, she was very knowledgeable about what she was doing which really made me feel at ease.
