Upcoming short film ‘Instinct' is a comedy that follows the beginning of the end of a relationship. Grace has been with Marc for about 2 years. 2 years and a few months. 790 days since she was last happy - but she has decided that now is the time to break up with him. Struggling to hide her true feelings about kicking Marc to the curb, Grace battles with her inner critic when it comes to owning her actions. A comedy highlighting the red flags in a relationship, and a woman's attempt at following her instinct.

Branwen Summers is an actor, writer, director and producer who started her career in front of the screen. Growing up in North Wales, Branwen worked on various TV shows for Welsh channel S4C, before making the transition into filmmaking. Working independently to put together her first short film Instinct, Branwen brought together a talented cast and crew, to create a project that will leave you belly laughing (and even cringing at points!).

“Although the core plot of Instinct is about the break up between Grace and Marc, I also take a deeper look into modern dating, and why, especially as women, there are so many prejudices that are accepted because 'that's just the way it is’. In my work, I like to delve into topics that will spark a conversation. Subtle misogyny that we may not notice, likeable characters that say the wrong thing, unlikeable characters that say the right thing - because this is reality. The signs aren’t always obvious, and people are complicated - my main goal as a writer and director is to create characters that leave you with questions.”

Produced by Moh Deghayes and Branwen Summers, Instinct looks into the realities of an unhealthy relationship in a humorous way. The wonderful Director of Photography Beatriz Delgado Mena brings the story to life, capturing a very talented cast including Goùrdan Mathis-Grant, Oliver Silver, Afua Ofori-Darko, Kimberley Barrett, Branwen Summers, Lydia Andrikopoulou and Chanel Fernandes.
