Olivia Black showcases “Serendipity” SS26 at London Fashion Week.

On Friday, 19th September 2025, our founder and creative director, Erica Bergsmeds, attended Olivia Black’s SS26 show, Serendipity, held at The Dixon, 211 Tooley Street, London. The evening began with cocktails and conversation before guests gathered for the 5:30 p.m. catwalk – a showcase that brought together industry insiders, press, and creatives from across the London fashion scene.

Olivia Black, the British–Irish designer redefining sustainable luxury, continues to stand out for her ability to fuse craftsmanship with conscience. Her work balances edge and emotion, built on principles of inclusivity, gender fluidity, and authenticity. For this season, Serendipity explored the beauty of chance, community, and creative evolution – an ode to the mentors, collaborators, and loved ones who have shaped Olivia’s journey.

Visually, the collection drew from the symbolism of magpies, their instinct to collect fragments of beauty and their striking black-and-white palette. Metallic accents, particularly gold, ran through the designs as a symbol of connection and discovery. It was a subtle but deliberate thread that elevated Olivia’s refined signature aesthetic into something quietly magnetic.

The collection featured a mix of tailored blazers, long coats, fluid dresses, skirts, and trousers, all crafted with longevity in mind. Sustainably sourced materials and carefully selected deadstock fabrics were reimagined into modern classics, proving that responsibility and desirability can coexist effortlessly. The safety pin logo, inspired by Olivia’s Nana, a seamstress, appeared as a recurring motif – a small but powerful emblem of community and legacy.

From front row, Erica noted how Serendipity captured the essence of what modern fashion should feel like: intelligent, conscious, and deeply human. The presentation avoided excess, instead leaning into clarity and emotional precision – a rare balance between artistry and wearability.

As the lights dimmed and the final look passed, the atmosphere in the room felt grounded yet quietly electric, a reflection of London’s design identity today: creative, responsible, and forward-looking.

Olivia Black’s Serendipity wasn’t just a moment on the Fashion Week calendar; it was a confident statement from a designer who knows exactly who she is and where she’s headed.
