10 minutes with Ingrid Oliver

We had the pleasure of sitting and chatting with the talented Ingrid Oliver. You will perhaps recognise Ingrid as one half of the comic double act Watson & Oliver and Petronella Osgood from the BBC television series Doctor Who. The actor, writer and comedian who recently starred alongside Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson in the movie ‘The Hustle’ was surprisingly down to earth and extremely funny. 

Even though Ingrid had us in stitches throughout the shoot with her witty comments and sharp sense of humour, we did manage to ask her a few questions.

What would you change your name to?

Ingrid Olivier

What is the most interesting thing you’ve seen/read this week? 

That David Bowie’s ‘Starman' was based on 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'.

What’s the most useless talent you have? 

I can wiggle my ears. 

What would be a good theme song for your life and why?

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. I’m an optimist. 

Do you speak any other languages? Are you good at accents? 

I speak fluent German and Italian and passable French and Spanish. I have an ear for accents, probably because I grew up in so many different places and I had to imitate people to fit in. 

What is your favourite place in the world ? 

Venice. New Orleans is a close second. 

3 things you can’t live without when you travel and why? 

Moisturiser, flight socks and leggings. 
I’m all about comfort and hydration. 

Biggest regret in life?  

Not sticking at the piano. 

What is the one thing that you wish you could do to look after the environment? 

I’m afraid anything I do will have minimal impact. 
We need governments round the world to step up.

Best advice you’ve been given?

A little bit of what you fancy does you good.

If you weren’t scared what would you do?

Get married. 

What do you do to cope with stressful situations?

Eat. Do jigsaw puzzles. 

Go to fashion look?

i.e leather jacket whether I’m wearing an evening gown or jeans and trainers - it works every time. 
A decent overcoat. I have about 15 in various different colours. I accessorise my coats with my outfit. 

Ingrid is currently filming new Paul Feig movie ‘Last Christmas’ starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.
